Reptile
Dreams is owned by Richard and myself, Janine Wells. Between us there is over 30 + years of experience.
We both started with childhood interests in reptiles. From then, that
young love has blossomed into our adulthood. We now have nearly a
lifetime invested in reptiles.
Richard started as a young child by catching and releasing native
reptiles. And I, started by receiving my first lizard, a little green anole
in elementary school as a present. Since then those child hood interests
have grown so much so that at one time, we were caring for reptiles that
numbered into the 3 digits. You name it we had it. From small to large,
from frogs, turtles, lizards, snakes, to even fish, and spiders. Of course
don't forget the dogs, cats, and birds. We've gone from private
owners, to pet store owners, to breeders. It most correctly can be called
a hobby gone wild.
We've
been members of several local Herpetological Societies. We originally
joined our first Reptile Club back in 1988 with that membership makes
Richard a continuous member for 22 years. Between us we've held such
positions as board members, librarian, newsletter editor, web page master,
to Vice President and President. Our newest membership is with the North Florida
Herpetological Society.
Richard mainly now keeps just Ball Pythons (he wants a pair of everything
). But he loves just about every any other reptile you can
think of. Local people recognize Richard's experience. They know they can call
on him to help ID and sex their reptiles, as well as for information on
how to care for their reptiles. And I, well I still love geckos (Phelsuma
and Leopard geckos). But, due to Richard's allergies to crickets, I've had
to give up keeping geckos and now have found a new love for Kenyan Sand
Boas.
Together with our varied interests we're able to offer a variety of
reptiles suitable to everyone. We'd like to say we offer the best that
nature has to offer.
